| Growing up in the Maple Ridge area and having spent many years travelling throughout the Fraser Valley, I have become keenly aware of how our immovable cultural heritage (old derelict barns & out buildings, machinery, trucks, tractors etc.) are rapidly being replaced by the neccessity of urban expansion such as housing complexes and mega shopping centres which require massive parking areas. As we hurry along the highways, we see but seldom have the time to stop and enjoy these disappearing scenes, so I am capturing as many as I can by pen & ink, and some by pen & ink plus watercolor wash. | |
